All You Need to Know About Becoming a Member

GP+ Co-operative is more than just an organisation.
It is a community of healthcare professionals coming together for a shared purpose.
Please read through this page before submitting your application for membership.

As a co-operative, we are owned and governed by our members, for our members. When you join GP+, you become a co-owner of the organisation, contributing to both its direction and its impact. As such, we expect members who join to participate in GP+ Co-op activities beyond self-interest.

We combine commercial flexibility with a strong social mission, supporting our members while advancing the healthcare ecosystem. What truly sets GP+ apart is our strong network and shared values.

If our mission resonates with you, we warmly invite you to consider joining us.

Membership Pathways

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Are the fees refundable?
Entrance fee and monthly fees are non-refundable. Share capital is refundable upon resignation.

  2. Why is the entrance fee $1,000?
The entrance fee was set by GP+’s founding members to ensure alignment in values and commitment. It reflects a shared belief in contributing meaningfully to the co-operative’s mission.

  3. Could you share more information on what is a co-operative?
To find out more, you may check out the website of the
Singapore National Co-operative Federation (SNCF). GP+ Co-operative is a member affiliated to SNCF.

  4. How do shares work?

Co-operative shares and dividends operate differently from those in a private company

    a. Share Value: Share value is fixed and determined at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). It typically does not fluctuate over time.

    b. Shareholding Limits: Members may hold multiple shares, but no individual may own more than 20% of the total share capital.

    c. Allocation of Annual Surplus: At the end of each financial year, any surplus generated is allocated into one or more of the following:

  • Central Co-operative Fund (CCF): Instead of paying corporate taxes, co-operatives contribute to the CCF, supporting the development of the co-operative sector in Singapore

  • Sinking Fund: Set aside to sustain existing initiatives and support future growth and expansion

  • Member Rebates / Honorarium: Members who actively participate in programmes or serve in official roles may receive rebates or honorarium (in line with recent regulatory updates)

  • Dividends: The Committee of Management (COM) may declare dividends for members, where appropriate.
